This young’un continues to excite with its moreish, insouciant youth. A restrained, grainy nose says nothing more than ‘whisky’, leaving the conversation to a malty palate of fruit blossoms and hay, tempered by judicious wood selection. What it lacks in age is more than compensated by the Highland brawn and muscle that sets it apart from its Speyside brethren. This is a malt that improves with air in the bottle so be patient with this youngster, like many malts this does not provide instant gratification.
