GLENKINCHIE 12 YEAR OLD
STYLE: SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY
REGION: SCOTLAND (LOWLANDS)
Lowland single malts typically get as much attention as Sadie Hawkins at the ball, but this is a worthwhile alternative to Speysiders of the same age and deserves due consideration. Its malty, sherried nose has a lot to say for itself, and it stands up just as nicely on a moreish, creamy palate boasting a generous helping of barley sugar and ex-sherry wood, with a healthy attitude on the finish. An overlooked malt that doesn’t skimp on flavour, worth a second look when you’re browsing the store shelves and can’t decide.
