Our love of Ben Nevis is well documented, but this latest iteration is single malt on steroids, full stop. Drinking older than its stated age, this is big and brash with a generous helping of peated malt and an equally generous measure of sherry, and with enough depth and complexity to rival Springbank. Candied fruit, ginger, toasted nuts and rubber and malt: the kind of whisky you hold in the mouth and chew until your jaw goes slack.
